Sepultura Armies of the Dead bootleg toy
Sepultura Armies of the Dead bootleg toy
This is a special bootleg toy series I created as a love letter to the most influential death metal albums/songs/groups in my life. Spanning to when I first got into the genre around 1991-92 I was blown away by the ferocity and how damn GOOD the music was. I was a metalhead/trash/crossover kid and this new style really filled in a gap of just insane energetic gore infested horror blood splattering goodness. I picked the songs that really stood out to me; yeah most are the bands big hits or well known songs but I don’t care, these are songs that take back in time and again. Each packaging reflects on the band and features a section of an influential song for me, and hopefully the figures will find themselves into the clawed, skeletal hands of those creatures who also celebrate the band.
This figure is in tribute to the mighty Sepultura. Now technically I had the Arise cassette around 1992 and could not get enough of it. That album will always make me feel like a kid again. But as I dove deeper into the catalog a few years later, Schizophrenia quickly replaced Beneath the Remains and the Troops of Doom became the king of Sepultura’s song mountain sorry Chaos AD and Desperate Cry, you just cannot touch Troops of Doom. It is a ferocious song and I can’t play it without thrashing around and causing some type of destruction.
Featuring a scythe wielding skeleton and his sword slashing bro, hand splattered red paint for blood effect, 6×9 coffin shape with yellow trim. Packaging and original design all done by me, painstakingly assembled by these withered hand.
All bootlegs are always 1 of 1. I never recreate or make the same bootleg twice, which makes this super rare, collectible, sought after, to be treasured, to be coveted…I think. THIS IS NOT A TOY TO BE OPENED AND PLAYED WITH. You’re not buying some toy, you’re buying a piece of art to display in your game room, store, nerd cave, or as a unique gift to some special corpse in your life.
